INGREDIENTS

1 cup LouAna® Organic Coconut Oil
1 cup cocoa butter
50 drops of your favorite essential oil

DIRECTIONS

Combine the LouAna Organic Coconut Oil and cocoa butter in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat. Heat until the oils are fully melted, stirring a bit until the mixture is completely smooth (about 5-7 mins.) Pour the mixture into the bowl of a stand mixer, then place the bowl in the refrigerator for an hour. Once the mixture is soft and solid, remove the bowl from the refrigerator and add your essential oil. Mix on high for several minutes to get a whipped texture. Transfer the body butter to a clean container with a lid for storage. Then keep it handy to slather on when your skin is still damp from a bath or shower. Luxurious! Stored in the shower, this body butter will last for 3-6 months.

Hi Marilyn. Shea butter and cocoa butter are both very moisturizing and have a few key similarities that make them great substitutes for one another.

Can you replace the cocoa butter with shea butter

  • Gerald Allen on 01.10.16

I apply the coconut directly to my skin without the cocoa oil. I take it from the jar with a spoon, let it melt in my hand and rub it on my skin. I use over my entire body and my skin color, texture and vibrancy is amazing. It feels a little oily but if you can fight through that it will be well worth it. Leave on your skin overnight and in the morning you will feel great. Thank you LouAna!
