Coconut Oil Insect Repellent

If you’re looking for an organic Coconut Oil insect repellent to discourage pesky bugs from interrupting your outdoor fun, this homemade spray offers a simple solution.

4–6 ounces filtered water or spring water
2 tablespoons LouAna® Organic Coconut Oil
A few drops of essential oil (recommended: rosemary, tea tree or eucalyptus)

Place 2 tablespoons of LouAna Organic Coconut Oil in a microwave-safe bowl or measuring cup. Heat in the microwave for a few seconds until melted. Let the oil cool. Now fill a small, mist spray bottle halfway up with filtered or spring water. Then pour in the LouAna Organic Coconut Oil. Add a few drops of an essential oil. Place the lid on the spray bottle and tighten until closed. Now shake the bottle vigorously until the ingredients are blended. Spritz the liquid directly on skin, avoiding sensitive areas like the eyes, mouth and nose. Be sure to shake the spray bottle before each application, as the mixture will separate.

Can you use the liquid coconut oil that doesn’t need to be melted?
