DESCRIPTION

This super-moisturizing, coconut oil hair mask can be used weekly to add shine and hydration to hair. It’s great for all hair types, but especially beneficial for chemically treated or dry hair because of the moisturizing power trio of LouAna Organic Coconut Oil, argan oil and shea butter.

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon LouAna® Organic Coconut Oil
12 drops of argan oil
1 tablespoon shea butter
Juice of half a lime

DIRECTIONS

Put 1 tablespoon of LouAna Organic Coconut Oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave oil for 10-15 seconds until it’s almost liquefied. Add 12 drops of argan oil and stir. Add the shea butter and stir until the mixture gets a creamy consistency. Squeeze in the lime juice and stir. To apply the mask, cover your shoulders with a towel, then gently massage the mask mixture into your clean, wet hair. Run a comb through your hair from roots to ends to help coat the strands. Let mask set for 5 minutes, then rinse out with cold water. Store in shower. Good for 1-2 applications, depending on length of hair.

Hi Charm. Yes, that will work.

Can I use the blue packaging coconut oil here instead of the organic?

  • LouAna on 01.05.21

Hi Erica. All LouAna coconut oils are refined, bleached and deodorized, and not hydrogenated. They are hexane-free, chlorine-free, and contain no preservatives. Since LouAna coconut oils are refined, they are not virgin oil nor are they cold-pressed.

Hi! I’d love to try a coconut oil treatment to soften the scales from my scalp psoriasis. Is Louana coconut oil cold-pressed?

  • LouAna on 04.29.20

Hi Mary. If you want to leave overnight, we recommend using a coconut oil-only mask rather than one that contains any citrus juice (i.e., lime juice) which may not be beneficial for bleached hair for that length of time.

I leave mine on over night. Is that ok?
I bleached my hair a few days ago and it is so dry
So, I thought I would give this a try
