The classic grilled cheese sandwich is pure comfort food. Swap out the butter for coconut oil and you’ll still get that crispy, golden crunch into meltiness that we all love so much!

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 8 minutes
Total time: 13 minutes

Serves: 1

2 slices white or whole wheat bread
2 tablespoons LouAna® 100% Pure Coconut Oil, at room temperature
1 slice yellow American cheese
1 slice white American cheese

Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.

Spread coconut oil on both sides of each piece of bread. Sandwich the cheese in the middle to complete the sandwich.

Place the sandwich on the griddle and cover with a large metal bowl or skillet top. Allow the sandwiches to become golden, about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and cover again, cook another 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the griddle and slice in half.

If you're eating grilled cheese, nutritional value is probably not the highest priority. It's probably better than using butter, though.

Me too it seems 1 tbsp is 120 calories and it's asking for two? Hmmm
